Learning Outcome 5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively.

This week during my internship at Asia Society I had the opportunity to finally begin working on one of the big projects the organization is planning during the next few years. The concept is to build an exhibit featuring a train that uses screens to stimulate different sights around the world. However, the train is only "visiting" popular Asian landmarks, in every country imaginable. Some examples include China, Japan, Vietnam, India, Pakistan and eventually ending by visiting Asian places in local Houston. This is similar to an exhibit I saw in Chicago over summer break, so it was easy to picture what the finished result would look like. Additionally. Texas Society plans to make a collection of Asian culture-themed LED lights to be presented in the cafe area.

We, along with the majority of other interns, were tasked with searching up pictures of said popular Asian landmarks such as the Great Wall in China and Mount Fuji in Japan, for example. The end goal was to make a presentation that could be shown to potential sponsors to greenlight the project. I found this proposal a great way to start my official collaboration with Asia Society since, in my opinion, my other projects haven't been on such a public scale and I'm excited to be able to contribute to something that will be a highlight of the building in the near future.
